Introduction to the Fretboard
The first section in The Music Reader's Toolbox – Guitar Edition – is the fretboard.
I believe it's the best place to start. Knowing the names of the notes on the fretboard
will help build a bridge to reach your full potential. Without the fretboard you can
read music but can't play it. Whatever your skill level, experienced guitar player or
beginner, all guitarists need to know the fretboard.
Everything I teach comes from my own experience learning to play the guitar and
later as professional guitarist.
The knowledge gained when I starting finding the notes on the fretboard all those
years ago is still with me.
The same knowledge will be with you wherever and whenever you play your guitar.
