Modes and their Chords - Introduction

If, on that day, the day I taught myself to improvise, my understanding of the

theory controlling my playing wasn't supportive I would have missed the vital

clue.

I teach guitar every day. I keep my students aware music reading holds the

answer to being creative.

At first, they enjoy reading music because the achievement of making a

recognisable tune transfer from page to playing is enormous. I insist their

music is shared with family and friends.

All my students sing to the rhythm of their chords, I have to admit some don't

feel comfortable singing. I promise one day their singing will have served it's

purpose and they can replace their voice with a melody from the stave.
