Pentatonic scales
A pentatonic scale is made up of 5 notes. Although these scales are simple
to play making them sound interesting is far from easy.
Before playing a pentatonic scale we have to create one. Then find where
to play it on the fretboard, preferably in several places.
Creating a pentatonic scale involves using 3 modes.
One mode from the key of 0 sharp C (major)
One mode from the key of 1 sharp G (major)
One mode from the key of 2 sharp D (major)
You don't have to do this every time you want to play a pentatonic scale.
Just this once to help your understanding.
Key and scale basically the same thing but have different purposes.
