Before we start

Sound, as I said earlier, is created by striking the string with a plectrum

and making it vibrate. The faster the vibration the higher the sound.

Play the 1 Play the first string open (No fingers are used when playing an open
string open string). Listen carefully to the sound. Play each of the six strings open.

The first string is the thinnest (high) the sixth string is the thickest (low)
