Sharp sign # - What does it mean?
In the example below F – G are two different sounds, each represented by a
different letter of the alphabet.
Unlike E – F, G – F has a stepping stone between the two sounds. The stepping
stone is called a semitone. The sound is higher than F but not as high as G. We
call it F#.
